Cheetah Conservation

This book is all about cheetahs.  It was written by Susan Brocker, a New Zealand author.  The first chapter is called "The Race to Survive."   It is all about what food they eat and how they survive.  They eat other animals like Zebra.  Cheetahs have been around for 4 million years but they can now only be found in Asia and Africa.   95 percent of baby cheetahs die before they are 4 months old.  Cheetahs grow between 2-3 centimetres and almost the whole body is covered with spots.   A cheetah weighs between 36-64Kg.   At the cheetah centre they feed them mainly chicken or turkey drumsticks.   Kathrine Bell is a voluntary worker at the outreach centre and she said,     "working with cheetahs is a special job.  It's fantastic."  Also she commented on how she had never been scared by cheetahs from when she was little and they are not very aggressive animals. The photos used in this book where real photos from Asia and Africa.
